ABOUT ME

Hi I'm Melissa! I'm your artist holding the brushes and charcoals making the magic happen.

I'm a self-taught artist from a very young age. I have a strong love for painting and drawing an array of different subject matter and mediums. The majority of my paintings are watercolors, I feel most comfortable working in this medium. My second love is to get my hands dirty and use my charcoals and pastels. Subject matters vary from plants, landscapes, buildings, boats, to famous and iconic people to animal/pet portraits. My style is rather bold, striking, full of life and can also be whimsical.

I've only in the last ten years really dived into being a full-time artist. Taking on so many amazing commission jobs for the last ten plus years helping me to build my portfolio. Mostly pet portraits, they sure seem to be my most popular commissions. When I'm not working on the commission paintings, I try to find time to do my own projects on the side. Selling some of those original paintings/drawings along the way. During the holidays if I have time, I also make custom cards. In the last several years I've gotten into my community more and showing along with selling my art at a shop. I've been doing more community art events as well.

Since 2019 I've had to slow down my art making a little bit. Putting time into being a fulltime single mom. I'm now slowly working on coming back. I'm now happy to start taking commission jobs. In between commission paintings I'll be working on my own personal paintings that also will be up for grabs and or being hung up in art galleries.
